Our Story

Pen & Paper Trivia started almost by accident by Paul Phillips on June 27th of 2013. A former roommate had answered an ad to start hosting trivia at Renaldi’s Pizza and when she had a conflict, Paul volunteered to fill in for a few weeks.

Those “few weeks” were met with great positive feedback and that’s when it was determined the change would be permanent. During the pandemic, we went digital to raise money for charities, and when everything reopened, we came back stronger than ever.

Although we continue to grow throughout Chicago, we never forget that it’s the people who make our events special. The greatest part of our week is being part of yours!
