Pen & Paper Trivia is a Chicago-based trivia entertainment company operated by Paul Phillips. We provide trivia hosting services for bars, private events, corporate team-building functions, charity fundraisers, and other venues throughout the city of Chicago. By accessing our website (penandpapertrivia.com) or participating in any of our events, you agree to the following terms.
2. Use of This Website
You may use this site for lawful purposes only. All content on this site — including text, logos, graphics, and trivia materials — is the property of Pen & Paper Trivia and may not be reproduced or distributed without our prior written permission. We make reasonable efforts to keep event schedules, locations, and pricing accurate, but details are subject to change without notice.
3. Event Participation
All players and attendees are expected to conduct themselves respectfully at Pen & Paper Trivia events. We reserve the right to remove any individual from an event for disruptive or unsportsmanlike behavior.
Pen & Paper Trivia events are device-free by design. Players agree not to use mobile phones or any internet-connected device to look up answers during gameplay. Violation of this rule may result in disqualification and removal from the event at the host’s discretion.
Teams are generally limited to a maximum of seven (7) players. Teams exceeding this limit may split into two teams or play as a larger group, but oversized teams will not be eligible for prizes. Our hosts have final authority over all gameplay decisions, including scoring disputes and rule enforcement. Host decisions are final.
4. Private & Corporate Events
Pricing for private and corporate events depends on factors including event location, number of attendees, theme requirements, and any additional media needs. Specific pricing and terms will be outlined in a separate agreement at the time of booking. We reserve the right to decline any booking request.
5. Charity of the Month
At the end of each month, the winning team selects a charity to receive a portion of merchandise sales and raffle proceeds for that month. Pen & Paper Trivia reserves the right to decline a selected charity if it does not align with our values.
6. Contact Form & Communications
By submitting an inquiry through our Contact form, you consent to being contacted by Pen & Paper Trivia via email regarding your request. We will not sell or share your information with third parties.
7. Merchandise
Merchandise is sold as-is at events and select retail locations. All sales are final unless the item is defective. We do not currently offer online purchasing.
8. Limitation of Liability
Pen & Paper Trivia is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage incurred at any event or venue. Attendance at any event is at your own risk. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or participation in our events.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site or attendance at events constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
