We would like to say a big part of our success can be found with our hosts, and they are! We also, as our name mentions, completely device free. Each question is turned in individually as opposed to a batch of answers submitted each round and there is a betting/wagering aspect when it comes to points. This means it is a game of knowledge AND strategy.

As a general rule the max number of people on a team is seven. Some locations might be less depending on the accommodations available. If you have a team over 7 people you can either split into two teams OR you can play as a larger team but, you will not be eligible for a prize.

Pen & Paper Trivia offers everything you need for a successful trivia night! We have your hosts, materials, and most importantly advertising. Most larger trivia companies will put the burden of advertising on the owners. Pen & Paper Trivia will make digital advertising that caters to your brand and that you are able to share as much or as little of as you desire. This includes but is not limited to monthly Instagram posts, weekly posts including all events of that week, daily story posts the week of the event, clues to encourage viewership, we also focus on Reddit and Facebook groups to provide targeted marketing, and winners photos that are tailored to be shared! We encourage you to review our Instagram to see examples of what we do.

Reach out to [email protected] and explain why you want to be a host and where you are located. If you already have a location secured to host at we can work together and have you trained and ready to go in as little as two weeks. If you do not have a location and want to host that is okay. Reach out and we can start looking for locations in your area to host.

We try our best to have a wide variety of topics at our events. We do not want to be too heavy in any single area and try to attract a wide demographic of players. On any given night you will see sports, music, history, science, movies, current events, and more. For our general trivia we always have our “anchor” questions of Trivial Feud, Spelling, Movie Name Mashup, and Happy Birthday that you will see every week at our general topic events.

As a general rule of thumb, no we do not use screens. We can if it is a requirement at the venue or wanted by the client. That being said, we recognize that this can cause problems for players with hearing issues. If you need a printed form of the questions please provide 48 hours notice before an event and we will do our best to accommodate the needs of any of our guests.

We have all of our shows on our website but, you can also follow us on Instagram @pandptrivia where we always post about upcoming events and provide clues on our stories the day of the event.

Currently we have small amounts of merchandise available for sale at Consignment Lounge and Avondale Bowl. At most events hosts will have merchandise for sale. If you know you want a particular hat, email us and we will make sure to have it at the event of your choice!

At the end of the month we have one winning team select a charity. We reserve the right to decline the selected charity if it does not align with our values. To date, we have never declined anyone’s suggestions because our patrons are good people. For that entire month 10% of merchandise sales will be donated, we hold approximately three raffle events, and we partner with Avondale Bowl to donate $2 of every Frozen White Russian on nights that we hold events there.

For individual events this can depend on a variety of factors such as the location of the event, the number or people, if you require a theme, if there is additional media required, etc. We also try to be flexible with pricing when it comes to charities.

For regular bar trivia we start at $150 per event with an attendance bonus built in with drinks and a meal (when applicable) for the host. If we perform well in the initial months we generally will negotiate to $175 per event with an attendance bonus.
